Matariki 2011

Matariki 2011
Wearable Arts Fashion Parade
A stunning parade of contemporary Maori cloaks made by college students in the Howick Ward
June 2011
Howick
Auckland, New Zealand

All Colleges in the Howick Ward will be invited to contribute and participate in the bi-annual Matariki 2011 Wearable Fashion Parade.

Colleges will also be invited to send Kapa Haka or Maori Performance Groups to provide Maori cultural dynamism to the evening.

Does your school own a school Korowai (ceremonial cloak) for prestigious occassions?
Do you have a beautiful korowai you Principal, significant staff member or senior student could wear appropriately during special occassions?

Te Roopu Awhina o Wairoa Trust encourages you to consider designing and creating a toanga (treasure) especially for your school whanau.

This could be a project for you to consider by Matariki 2011.
Matariki begins after June 4th in 2011.
